Birdhouse Sterling Earrings

I hand fabricated these adorable little bird houses by first texturing a sheet of silver. I wanted it to have a slight wood grain look. I then created the little border and a little birds, and the perch, out of sterling silver. They are adorned with etched agate beads, little blue dumourtirite beads, and African turquoise, which is really a type of jasper. They hang approximately 2 and 1/2 inches long from hand forged sterling silver ear wires. They do have a slight bit of weight, but they are not uncomfortably heavy. Each individual earring weighs .2 ounces, which is about the same as three US pennies. These entirely handcrafted earrings are true one-of-a-kinds, and will surely garner compliments!
