Seashore Reliquary Charm Cluster

I created this one of a kind, little charm cluster by first building the little reliquary shrine. I roll milled a leaf imprint into sterling silver for the back. The walls of the arch are made of bronze. A small scallop shell is encased in resin inside the little shrine. I chose the scallop shell as it is associated with St. James and the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trek in Spain. Pilgrims who made the arduous journey to Santiago de Campostella, received a scallop shell shaped badge as proof of their piety and devotion. I have known people who did this trek In hopes of healing, both spiritually and or physically. Many pilgrims in ancient times carried a  scallop shell, believing that it would deepen the experience and provide them with protection and guidance. There’s something so beautiful about the symmetry of a scallop show and tiny beauty has been preserved. I have added a piece of seaglass and a pearl to this group. They hang from an 18” sterling rolo chain.
